Neurimmune announces publication in Science Translational Medicine of its experimental therapy targeting misfolded SOD1

Neurimmune announced today that preclinical data relating to its human-derived antibody targeting misfolded superoxide dismutase 1 (SOD1) have been published in the current issue of Science Translational Medicine. The paper “A human-derived antibody targets misfolded SOD1 and ameliorates motor symptoms in mouse models of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis” describes a monoclonal antibody that selectively binds to misfolded and aggregated forms of SOD1 but not to physiological SOD1. Generated by Neurimmune’s Reverse Translational MedicineTM (RTMTM) technology from human memory B cells from healthy elderly subjects, the antibody ameliorated motor symptoms and extended survival in different animal models of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).
